Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using Khaata POS ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. The Service is operated by SAZTech Solutions ("we", "us", "our"). If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

These terms apply to all users of the Service, including shop owners, managers, cashiers, and any other staff members granted access.

2. Description of Service

Khaata POS is a cloud-based point-of-sale (POS) system designed for Pakistani retail shops. The Service provides tools for sales processing, inventory management, customer credit tracking (khata/udhaar), reporting, and related business operations. The Service is provided via web browser and as an installable progressive web application (PWA).

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create a shop account by providing accurate information including your shop name, your name, a username, password, and WhatsApp/mobile number. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account. Each shop account may have multiple user accounts (owner, manager, cashier, etc.) as permitted by your subscription plan.

4. Subscription Plans & Billing

The Service offers a free tier and paid subscription plans. Features, product limits, and user limits vary by plan. Plan details and pricing are displayed in the app under Settings → Billing.

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly. Payment is accepted via JazzCash, EasyPaisa, and bank transfer. You are responsible for making timely payments to maintain your subscription. If payment is not received by the due date, your account may be suspended until payment is made.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' advance notice. Price changes will not apply retroactively to the current billing period.

5. Your Data

You own your data. All business data you enter into the Service — products, sales, customer records, khata entries, reports — belongs to you. We do not sell, share, or use your business data for any purpose other than providing the Service to you.

We store your data on secure servers provided by Supabase (hosted on Amazon Web Services). Data is encrypted in transit using TLS. We perform regular automated backups, but we recommend you also export critical data periodically using the CSV export features within the app.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful business purposes. You may not use the Service to process transactions for illegal goods or services, attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data, interfere with the Service's infrastructure, or use the Service for any purpose that violates Pakistani law.

The demo store account is provided for evaluation purposes only. Do not enter real business data into the demo store, as it is shared and may be reset without notice.

7. Availability & Support

We strive to keep the Service available 24/7 but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Planned maintenance, server issues, or internet connectivity problems may cause temporary downtime. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of planned maintenance in advance via in-app announcements.

Support is provided via WhatsApp and the in-app support ticket system. We aim to respond to all inquiries within 24 hours during business days. Critical issues (account lockouts, data access problems) are prioritized.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SAZTech Solutions shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of profits, data loss, or business interruption.

Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

9. Account Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, fail to pay for a paid subscription after a grace period, or if required by law. Upon termination, you will have 30 days to export your data. After 30 days, your data may be permanently deleted.

You may close your account at any time by contacting support. We will assist you with data export before deletion. Pre-paid subscription fees are non-refundable.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app announcement at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Pakistan. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan.
